On Monday night, MLB commissioner and noted lover of baseball Rob Manfred announced that the MLB would be moving forward with a 60 game season starting around July 23rd, to which the owners and MLBPA both agreed. Players are expected to have an abbreviated spring training starting on July 1st with expanded rosters. Play will also be restricted by region with 40 of the games staying in division and the other 20 being interleague games against nearby teams. Other additional rules are in place of which the most notable is the universal DH. While the threat of a universal DH may send James into a stroke as he couldn't wait to see if Brewers pitchers would improve on their gaudy .136/.164/.188, overall I think we're all just happy to see that the MLB is coming back. Personally, I'm excited to see Christian Yelich continue his dominance and not have a full year of his prime wasted. Apparently the Twins were good last year and expect to do the same despite the White Sox clearly being superior (I said what I said Jon, Yaz forever). However this make-shift season pans out, get excited to see baseball's finest finally getting to play this year.
