I have no choice but to draw the conclusion that the silent majority in Wisconsin supports Tom Brady rather than their hometown signal caller Aaron Rodgers. While the louder portion of football fans in Wisconsin will make largely baseless claims about Rodgers being the greatest quarterback of all time, it seems that there is a more educated, quieter portion of the fan base in the beer state that recognizes the consensus pick for greatest of all time.
What forces me to this conclusion? A study recently released showed that Wisconsin has ordered the 7th-most Tom Brady Buccaneers jerseys, behind 5 New England (Patriots fans) states as well as Florida, where the Buccaneers are located. Has Brady's exodus from the villainous Patriots allowed his silent Wisconsinite admirers to come out of the woodwork? It would appear so. It is even more perplexing that Wisconsin embraces Brady at such a fever pitch when you factor in his college career at rival Michigan, as well as his family ties to rural Minnesota. Truly confusing times we live in.
As a neutral Minnesotan, I can't decide if I am more disappointed in our sister state, or if it's pleasing to see that the education levels seem to be on the rise for our eastern neighbor. Either way, I can't imagine the disappointment that the louder portion of the Green Bay fans will express as these facts come to light.
