Basketball Is A Burning Thing And It Makes A Fiery Ring Bound By No Desire The Wolves Fell Into A Ring Of Fire
The Wolves Fell Into A Burning Ring Of Fire They Went Down, Down, Down And The Flames Went Higher
And It Burns, Burns, Burns The Ring Of Fire The Ring Of Fire
The Wolves have lost 11 straight games. The last game they won was on January 9th, nearly a full month ago. This is their second 11-game losing streak since December started. Remember that Karl-Anthony Towns was out with an injury for a large portion of December- he has not been on the floor for a win since November. That was two full months ago (and counting). It's way too depressing to properly document this stretch of time, so here's a list of things that happened (good or bad):
- Jarrett Culver scored a solid 14 points and added 5 rebounds in a loss to OKC. His ability to get to the rim at will is promising.
- The Wolves allowed 2nd-year guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to record a historic triple-double, with 20 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists.
- Gorgei Dieng recorded his 6th double-double of the season, against the Pacers (someone please trade for him).
- Andrew Wiggins recorded the first triple-double of his career against the Raptors, with 18 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds.
- Jarrett Culver hit 4-10 threes on his was to 26 points against the Raps.
- The Wolves allowed Nuggets rookie Michael Porter Jr. to up his stock with a 20-point, 14-rebound performance.
- Wiggins put up a 25-5-9 performance against the Bulls (primarily in the second half).
- KAT dropped 40 points in the loss to Chicago.
- The Wolves held James Harden to only 11 points, but allowed Russell Westbrook to score 45
- The Wolves lost to the Kings - this deserved an actual paragraph that you can find below the list.
- Nothing good happened the other night against the Clippers
The aforementioned Wolves loss to the Kings was historic. It was perhaps Andrew Wiggins' best game of his career, as he actually appeared to give all-out effort on his way to 36 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists, but that's not why. It was the Wolves' first game after Kobe's passing, but that's not why. This is why.
Oof. Trade everyone.
